A special commemorative sitting of Dáil and Seanad Éireann was held in the Round Room of the Mansion House on Monday, 21 January 2019. The sitting took place exactly 100 years after the first public sitting of the Dáil in the same room in 1919.
Before the sitting began, President Michael D. Higgins delivered the keynote address. This was followed by performances reflecting on the documents presented at the first sitting of the Dáil.
The first public sitting of Dáil Éireann took place in the Round Room of the Mansion House on 21 January 1919.
