First sitting of 33rd Dáil to take place on Thursday, 20 February

The first sitting of the 33rd Dáil will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, 20 February.

Only visitors who are invited guests of Oireachtas Members may visit Leinster House on this day. Access to the Dáil Public Gallery will be by special passes only which are being issued to TDs.

The first business of the new Dáil will be to select the Ceann Comhairle. If more than one candidate is nominated, the Ceann Comhairle will be selected by secret ballot. The Clerk of the Dáil will act as Chairman until the Ceann Comhairle is elected and takes the Chair.

The proceedings of the meeting are laid down in Standing Orders 1-10.
