We invite visitors to join our guided tours of the Dáil and Seanad chambers and to take the opportunity to look around the beautiful, historic and lesser-seen side of a building that has been restored in recent years. Open House at Leinster House will have something for everyone, and we look forward to meeting families and visitors, young and old, to enjoy our special weekend.

Open House is a free festival of architecture with guided tours, films, exhibitions and events taking place across the city this October. Take a look at what's on view this year.

A building for all

This year we are proud to hold AsIAm accreditation as an autism-friendly Parliament. Leinster House is the seat of the Houses of the Oireachtas, a Parliament for all. To find out more about how we strive to meet the needs of all our visitors to Leinster House, take a look at our guides, maps and resources.

About Leinster House

Leinster House is the seat of the two Houses of the Oireachtas, Ireland's national parliament, comprising Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann. It was built in the mid 18th century by the Earl of Kildare, James Fitzgerald. The Irish State bought Leinster House in 1924 to house the nascent State's Dáil and Seanad and today Leinster House forms the centre of a complex of buildings accommodating the business of parliament, public representatives and staff.
