With a flurry of flashing blue lights and high-vis jackets, some very special Garda vehicles arrived to cheers from those gathered during a visit to Leinster House.
The ‘Little Blue Heroes’, complete with Garda escort, were met by the Ceann Comhairle, Deputy Verona Murphy, and the Justice Minister, Deputy Jim O’Callaghan, along with Tipperary TD Michael Murphy.
The Little Blue Heroes Foundation’s mission is to provide practical and financial support to families of children with serious illnesses in Ireland while empowering the lives of children through positive community engagement.
The Foundation was established in 2017 and is funded entirely by donations and fundraising. The not-for-profit charity is led in a voluntary capacity by Garda members, retired Garda members and civic-minded people from communities.
During their visit the heroes were given the opportunity to explore Leinster House and received a special welcome from the Ceann Comhairle at the start of Dáil proceedings.
