Keep up to date on what's happening in the European Commission, Council and Parliament with the weekly Oireachtas Digest on Europe.

The European Parliament will hold several events to mark Gender Equality Week. It is the main topic of several events being organised by parliamentary committees. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola will open the hearing on Women’s leadership in politics in the Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee on 5 November.

On 4 November, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs is set to adopt a proposal making targeted amendments to the European Electoral Act, to allow MEPs to delegate their voting rights in plenary before and after the birth of a child

Also this week, MEPs at the Budgets Committee will exchange views with Commissioner Piotr Serafin on the EU’s next long-term budget, the Interinstitutional Agreement, and the Own Resources Decision.
