Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to receive update on the National Broadband Plan

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 29 June, to discuss the National Broadband Plan at 1:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House. 

The Committee will hear from:

·       Peter Hendrick, CEO of National Broadband Ireland (NBI)

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kieran O’Donnell TD said: “The Committee looks forward to receiving this further update from NBI on the roll-out of the National Broadband Plan, one of the most critical public infrastructure projects in the history of the State.

“Members look forward to an update on the number of homes passed by the NBI network, number of homes connected to date and the number of homes to be connected in the coming months together with the latest timescale for expanding the roll-out and plans to make up for delays.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
