Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport & Media to discuss social outcome contacts in sport and separately working conditions & skills shortages in the hospitality sector

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media chaired by Deputy Niamh Smyth will meet in 2 sessions tomorrow, Wednesday, 29 June to discuss social outcome contracts in sport and separately with representatives from the hospitality and tourism sector to discuss working conditions and skills shortages.

The Committee will hear submissions from representatives from:

Session 1

13:30 – 15:00 approx

·       Rethink Ireland

·       Football Association of Ireland (FAI)

·       Union of European Football Associations (UEFA)

·       United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)

Session 2

15:05 – 16:30

·       Dr Deirdre Curran, Lecturer, National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG)

·       Unite the Union

·       Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU)

·       Services Industrial Professional and Technical Union (SIPTU)

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
