Proposed playground at Battle of the Boyne Visitors Centre will encourage cross border relations

21 Sep 2011, 16:40

Dominic Hannigan TD, Chairman of the Good Friday Agreement Committee, welcomes the proposed playground at the Battle of the Boyne visitors centre. Speaking today Deputy Hannigan said:

“The proposed addition of a playground to the Battle of the Boyne Visitors Centre will be a great addition to the centre and its facilities. It will of course also make the centre more attractive for families as young children will have a place to play after they finish the tour of the site. The playground would include swings, slides, climbing apparatus and other play equipment.”

“The idea behind the centre is to help cross border relations and a playground is a good way of doing this. Children playing together from different communities in a shared space is an excellent example of the great work that has come from the Good Friday Agreement.”

“It is great to see the visitors centre continuing to grow and develop. On the 23rd of September it will take part in the national Culture Night event. Admission will be free for all so that everyone can come and experience the history and enjoy the events that are taking place from 3pm that day.”
