Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett TD has offered condolences on behalf of Dáil Éireann to the family and friends of author Maeve Binchy, who passed away last night.
Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil Seán Barrett TD says: “It is with deep sadness that I learned of the death of Maeve Binchy. Her innate warmth and humanity was reflected in her storytelling, which was read by millions around the world.
“A fellow native of Dalkey, she wore her wonderful talent lightly and will be long remembered for her generosity, humour and integrity by those who had the privilege of knowing her.”
