Secretary General, Department of the Taoiseach to appear before Finance Committee

21 May 2013, 13:21

The Department of the Taoiseach Strategy Statement 2011-2014 and the IFSC Clearing House Group will be on the agenda of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform tomorrow, Wednesday, 22nd May 2013 when it meets with the Secretary General at the Department of the Taoiseach.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch said: “The Department of the Taoiseach is undergoing an intense period of change which involves significant restructuring of the organisation and re-prioritising of its work. The Strategy Statement outlines this process of change. The Department has identified eight strategic priorities for the period 2011-2014: jobs & growth; Europe; the Programme for Government; service; reform; trust; fairness; and peace. Tomorrow will be an opportunity for the Committee to get an update on the strategy and assess what progress has been made in achieving change and delivering on these priorities.

“Following this we will discuss the role and work of the IFSC Clearing House Group. The IFSC Clearing House Group is chaired by the Secretary General of the Department of the Taoiseach and includes representatives from Government Departments, State Agencies and the International Financial Services Industry.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House at 2p, on Wednesday, 22nd May 2013.

The Finance Sub-Committee will discuss the 2013 revised estimates for public services – finance vote group with Minister for Finance Michael Noonan TD at 4.30 pm. The revised estimates are:

Vote 7 (Office of the Minister for Finance);
Vote 8 (Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General);
