Leinster House to Open its Doors for Culture Night 2014

18 Sep 2014, 10:16

The gates of Leinster House will be opened to welcome in 1,650 members of the public for an evening of culture and entertainment in the historic surroundings of the Irish Parliament, tomorrow Friday 19 September from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm. The unique occasion takes place as part of the nationwide Culture Night Festival.

18 September 2014

On the night, visitors will enjoy exceptional access to the Dáil and Seanad Chambers while also exploring the historic corridors of Leinster House. Musical entertainment will be provided on the night by members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. As in previous years, there has been huge public demand and the ticketed event is now fully booked out.

The Houses of the Oireachtas are once again delighted to participate in this nationwide event. Culture Night, organised by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in partnership with Dublin City Council Temple Bar Cultural Trust, is a highlight of the cultural calendar providing people with the opportunity to discover and enjoy the rich cultural offering of the country’s venues at night for free.

By 11pm tomorrow, 10,000 people will have passed through the doors of Leinster House on Culture Night since the Houses of the Oireachtas first participated in 2008.
