Leinster House looks forward to welcoming the public for Culture Night 2015

Leinster House will open its doors to the public for Culture Night 2015 as part of the nationwide event, which takes place across the country tomorrow, Friday 18th September.

From 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm, visitors will be given exceptional access to the Irish Parliament building.

Guided tours will be provided on the night, which will give visitors the chance to see the historic Dáil and Seanad chambers, as well as the home of the Oireachtas Parliamentary Committee system, located in the newer annex of Leinster House 2000.

Visitors will also be able to view the historic art on display throughout the building as they walk through the corridors of Leinster House.

Musical entertainment will be provided on the night by members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

Leinster House is one of the most culturally and socially significant buildings in the country and opening the doors of the Parliament plays a vital part in promoting civic engagement between the public and their political system.

As such, the Houses of the Oireachtas Service is delighted take part in Culture Night for the eighth year in a row and made 1,650 tickets available to the public for the event.

While the tours are free, please note that this is a ticketed event and tickets are now sold out.

This event will be run over five sessions on Friday 18th September:

  • Session 1: 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm
  • Session 2: 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm
  • Session 3: 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm
  • Session 4: 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm
  • Session 5: 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm

Culture Night is an annual, nationwide event in which arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public.

Please note that the last tour of Leinster House will start at 10.15pm.
