Chair Designate of the Dublin Airport Authority to appear before the Transport Committee

The Select Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport will tomorrow meet with Mr Pádraig Ó Riordáin, Chairman designate of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA).

The meeting will commence at 3.00pm in Committee Room 3 tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 July 2016.

Committee Chairman, Brendan Griffin TD, said “As a Committee we very much welcome the opportunity to meet with Mr. Ó Riordáin in his capacity as Chair Designate. The Dublin Airport Authority has both a National and International element and between Dublin and Cork airport facilitated over 27 million passengers in 2015. It is of strategic importance for the growth of our economy and we welcome the opportunity to hear from Mr Cussen on the key issues for the DAA and also about his strategic vision into the future.”

“Following the discussion tomorrow, a decision will be taken by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to confirm Pádraig Ó Riordáin as Chair of the Dublin Airport Authority. We look forward to contributing towards an open debate and assisting the Minister in his decision.”
