Finance Committee to scrutinise EU COMs on Corporate Tax Reform Package

Officials from the Department of Finance, Office of the Revenue Commissioners, and European Commission will appear before the Finance Committee tomorrow.

The Committee will further scrutinise EU COMs (2016)683,685, 686 and 687 - Corporate Tax Reform Package including the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB)

The corporate reform package proposal published on 25th October, 2016 provides new proposals to provide for a more modern tax system for business, to close loopholes between EU countries and non-EU countries and to provide new dispute resolution rules to relieve problems with double taxation for businesses.

The European Commission has proposed to re-launch the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB). The CCCTB will overhaul the way in which companies are taxed in the Single Market, to try to ensure a more competitive corporate tax system.

The meeting will commence at 2pm in Committee Room 3, Leinster House.
