Future Funding of Domestic Water Services Committee to meet Department officials as it continues hearings

The Committee on the Future Funding of Domestic Water Services will continue its hearings when it meets with officials from the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government and the Department of Finance today, Wednesday, 18 January 2017.

Chairman of the Committee Pádraig Ó Céidigh said: “Today we will resume our consideration of the report of the Expert Commission when we will meet with officials from the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to discuss issues around Funding operations, maintenance and investment in the water network. We will focus in particular on the Rural Water Funding Programme. Following this, we will consider the Funding domestic water and wastewater services and, in particular, different possible approaches to charging for water services. The Department of Finance will make a presentation on this matter.\"

The Joint Committee on the Future Funding of Domestic Water Services will meet in Committee Room 4, at 1.30pm on Wednesday, 18 January 2017. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
