Part I
Representatives of NewEra

Representatives of the National Federation of Group Water Schemes and the Right2Water

Chairman of the Committee Pádraig Ó Céidigh said: “Tomorrow, we will continue our consideration of the report of the Expert Commission. In the first part of the meeting we will meet with representatives from NewEra which provides financial and commercial advisory services to Government Ministers in relation to certain semi-State entities – including Irish Water. In June 2016, NewERA provided a report for the relevant Ministers on Irish Water, relating to a review of Irish Water’s estimated additional funding requirements arising from the suspension of domestic water charges; and options for the debt funding of Irish Water and the cost of its existing debt facilities relative to the cost of State funding. We will examine this report in greater detail with NewEra representatives.

“In the second part of our meeting, we will we will resume our consideration of the funding domestic water and wastewater services and, in particular, different possible approaches to charging for water services when we will meet with representatives from Right2Water and the National Federation of Group Water Schemes. This meeting provides us with an opportunity to consider the recommendations of the Expert Report in greater depth with the National Federation of Group Water Schemes and Right2Water.”

The Joint Committee on the Future Funding of Domestic Water Services will meet in Committee Room 4, at 12 noon on Tuesday, 7 February 2017.
