20 Feb 2017, 15:56

The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government will meet tomorrow to discuss the Strategy for the Rental Sector.

20 February 2017

In attendance will be representatives from the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government; the Residential Tenancies Board and the Housing Agency.

Launched in December, the Strategy for the Rental Sector aims to alleviate short term pressures and address the long term causes by delivering increased housing supply.

Committee Chairperson, Maria Bailey TD, said, \"Our meeting tomorrow will focus on an examination of the ‘Strategy for the Rental Sector’. Published in December 2016, the strategy sets out an ambitious plan to develop and nurture a viable and sustainable rental sector. The strategy and its recommendations are structured around four key areas and tomorrow we will engage with officials from the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government; the Residential Tenancies Board and the Housing Agency. The Committee looks forward to a productive meeting, with a focus on practical solutions to this significant problem.”

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 1, Leinster House at 11am tomorrow, Tuesday, 21 February 2017.
