Housing Committee to scrutinise Thirty-fifth Amendment of the Constitution (Water in Public Ownership) (No. 2) Bill 2016

The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government will meet tomorrow to commence scrutiny of the Thirty-fifth Amendment of the Constitution (Water in Public Ownership) (No. 2) Bill 2016 [PMB].

Session A: Joan Collins T.D.; Seamus Ó’Tuathail S.C. and Treasa Brannick O'Cillin;  
Session B: Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chairperson, Maria Bailey TD, said, “"Tomorrow the Committee will undertake detailed scrutiny of this Bill, proposed by Deputy Joan Collins. The Bill seeks to ensure that the public water system remains in public ownership. Through our deliberation of the Bill tomorrow, Members will examine and discuss the complexities around enshrining the public water system in the Constitution. We look forward to a very productive meeting on this important issue".

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 4, Leinster House at 9.00am tomorrow, Thursday, 04 May 2017.
