The Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow at 9.30am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Session A: 9.30 a.m. [Mr. Padraic Kissane, Financial Advisor and customers affected by the Tracker Mortgage issue]

Session B: 10.45 a.m. [Mr. Harald Felzen, European Project Manager, Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation, SBFIC and Mr. Seamus Boland, Chief Executive Officer, Irish Rural Link]

Committee Chairman, John McGuinness TD, says, “The Tracker Mortgage scandal continues to impact on bank customers and tomorrow the Committee will hear directly from customers whose lives have been severely affected.  Financial Advisor and customer advocate, Mr. Padraic Kissane will also brief the Committee on his work representing customers and challenging the lenders.”

"In addition, rural communities are still feeling the impact of the economic downturn and are particularly vulnerable to changing banking models including branch closures. The Committee will engage with representatives from German Bank, Sparkasse and Irish Rural Link to explore constructive measures that could be taken to counteract the impact these policies are having on rural communities”.
