Transport, Tourism & Sport Committee to meet European Commissioner for Transport

The Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport will meet with European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc tomorrow, Thursday, 19 October 2017.

Committee Chair, Deputy O’Dowd said: “Tomorrow the Committee will have an engagement with European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc. Commissioner Bulc’s portfolio is responsible for the development of transport infrastructure in the European Union. Among her responsibilities are: pushing forward work on trans-European transport networks and promoting cross-border transport connections; Completing negotiations on the new railway regulations and pursuing the Single European Sky policy; facilitating travel by ensuring optimal connections between different transport modes, such as railway and air transport; and developing common EU standards for transport safety and security to improve the international environment for transport. We are looking forward to an interesting, lively and informative engagement with Commissioner Bulc on a variety of transport issues that are relevant to Ireland.”

The Committee will meet at 11.30am, tomorrow, Thursday, 19 October 2017 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
