Eighth Amendment to discuss terminations in the case of foetal abnormality

The Oireachtas Committee on the Eight Amendment will discuss termination in cases of foetal abnormality and ancillary recommendations from the Citizen’s Assembly Report at its meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, 29 November 2017.

The agenda for the meeting is:

Session A: Termination in cases of foetal abnormality [Dr Peter Thompson, Consultant in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust]
Session B: Ancillary recommendations of the Citizens' Assembly Report [Officials from the Department of Education and Skills; Officials from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs]

Senator Catherine Noone, Chair of the Committee said: “In the first part of our meetingThe Committee will consider the Termination in cases of foetal abnormality with Dr Peter Thompson, Consultatn in Maternal foetal Medicine at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust. The second part of our meeting will consider the Ancillary recommendations of the Citizens' Assembly Report with officials from the Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.”
