State Claims Agency and HSE due before PAC to clarify evidence in relation to Cervical Check

Representatives from the HSE and State Claims Agency and will be back before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) tomorrow, 14th of June, to discuss a clarification in respect of a contradiction of evidence given to the Committee previously on the 17th of May 2018.

 

This will precede main item for the day which is the Committee’s Examination of the National Treatment Purchase Fund’s 2016 Financial statements

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

09.00: Clarification in respect of contradiction of evidence given to the Committee
Representatives from the Health Service Executive and State Claims Agency

11.00: Engagement with Nursing Homes Ireland in relation to Fair Deal
Scheme Nursing Homes Ireland

14.30: 2016 Financial Statements of the National Treatment Purchase Fund
Representatives from the National Treatment Purchase Fund

Speaking today, PAC Chairman, Seán Fleming TD, said, “A number of weeks ago, the HSE and the State Claims Agency appeared before the Public Accounts Committee to discuss the Cervical Check controversy. Following that meeting, the State Claims Agency provided information that conflicted with the evidence given by the HSE regarding a statement that the women involved had been informed in relation to a Cervical Check audit. Tomorrow, the Committee will seek to clarify the matter.”

“The second part of the meeting will focus on the 2016 Financial Statements of the National Treatment Purchase Fund and matters related to the Fair Deal Scheme. Nursing Homes Ireland have been invited in to inform the Committee’s consideration such matters.”

The meeting will start at 9am in Committee Room 3, Leinster House.
