Tusla Chief Executive Fred McBride to appear before Children & Youth Affairs Committee

Tusla Chief Executive Fred McBride will appear before the Joint Committee on Children and Youth Affairs on Wednesday, 20 June to discuss the HIQA report published on 19 June 2018 into the management by Tusla - the Child and Family Agency of allegations of child sexual abuse.

Committee Chairman Alan Farrell TD said: “The HIQA report raises serious concerns about how Tusla manages allegations of child sexual abuse and concludes that Tusla - the Child and Family Agency must take urgent action to address shortcomings in this area. Our meeting provides us with the first opportunity to examine the report in full with Tusla's Chief Executive, Fred McBride, and to discuss how it is addressing the issues highlighted in the report.”

Wednesday’s meeting will take place in Committee Room 1 at 2pm and can be viewed live here.
