Health Committee to discuss Sláintecare implementation

2 Oct 2018, 13:41

The Joint Committee on Health will meet at 9am tomorrow to discuss the Sláintecare Implementation Strategy.

Minister Simon Harris will be before the Committee, followed by representatives from the Centre for Health Policy and Management, Trinity College Dublin.

Chairperson of the Health Committee, Dr Michael Harty TD said today, “The Committee welcomes the opportunity to engage directly with Minister Harris on the framework for reform of the Irish health service. If properly funded and implemented, Sláintecare would represent a dramatic change for the better to the Irish healthcare system. Committee Members will seek answers from the Minister for Health on how the much-needed changes are to be brought about and precisely when. Trinity College’s Pathways team provided technical support to the Oireachtas Committee on the Future of Healthcare, so the Committee will be keen to get their input on the implementation strategy.”
