Good Friday Committee, Safefood to discuss all-Ireland promotion of food safety

Leaders of the all-Ireland food safety promotion agency Safefood will discuss their work and the potential implications of Brexit at the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The meeting at 2:15 p.m. in Committee Room 4 can be viewed live here and on Android and Apple devices using the Houses of the Oireachtas app.

Safefood, stylised as safefood, is one of six cross-border bodies created under terms of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Based in Cork, the organisation is tasked with promoting food safety and healthy eating on an all-Ireland basis.

Safefood’s scheduled witnesses are

  • Chief Executive Ray Dolan,
  • Vice Chairman Paul Gibbons,
  • Director of Corporate Operations Patricia Fitzgerald and
  • Director of Food Science Gary Kearney.
