The Joint Committee on Justice and Equality will consider the Bail (Amendment) Bill 2017 on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m.
The Private Members Bill proposes to introduce new grounds for refusing bail conditions and new requirements for electronic monitoring in certain circumstances where bail is granted.
Scheduled witnesses include

- Mary Rogan, associate professor in law at Trinity College Dublin
- Vice Chairperson Joan Deane of AdVIC (Advocates for Victims of Homicide)
- Executive Director Deirdre Malone of the Irish Penal Reform Trust
