The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government will meet tomorrow to discuss the funding and delivery of public housing under Rebuilding Ireland.

“Local authorities must be empowered to deliver social housing across the country,” said Committee Chair, Maria Bailey TD.

“Tomorrow the Committee will meet with representatives from four local authorities to discuss the issues facing the funding and delivery of public housing. This will include discussions about the challenges facing the housing sections of local authorities; targets and the fact that small and medium sized builders around the country sometimes struggle to access the funding necessary to start construction.
