The Joint Committee on Justice and Equality will discuss potential reforms to the family law system on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Scheduled witnesses include Dr Conor O’Mahony of University College Cork, and representatives from key stakeholder organisations, Law Society of Ireland; Children's Rights Alliance and Rape Crisis Network Ireland.

“The Committee has made Ireland’s family law system a work priority for 2019. We plan to hold at least two more hearings on this important topic over the coming weeks involving key stakeholders, including the Bar Council, FLAC and Mr. Geoffrey Shannon, Special Rapporteur on Child Protection”, said Committee Chairman Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD.
