Joint Committee on Transport, Tourism & Sport to discuss BusConnects and MetroLink with NTA

The Joint Committee on Transport, Tourism & Sport will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am  in Committee Room 4, Leinster House to discuss BusConnects and MetroLink when the National Transport Authority come before the committee.

Ahead of the meeting, the Chairman of the Joint Committee, Committee Chairman Fergus O’Dowd TD, said: “The Committee is eager examine the opportunities and challenges with respect to BusConnects and MetroLink with the NTA, as both of these initiatives have the potential to impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the Leinster region.

“The aim of BusConnects is to address public transport challenges in the capital, with an emphasis on bus corridors through a redesign of the Dublin Bus route network, and the committee looks forward to engagement with the NTA before they publish their final network design soon.

“Similarly, Metrolink and the suggested southside section is another topical issue along with the impact on the LUAS, and we look forward to engagement with the National Transport Authority on these matters, and the broader Greater Dublin Transport Plan.”
