Joint Committee on Housing, Planning & Local Government to discuss topics of Urban Regeneration and Restoration Of Town Councils

The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning & Local Government will meet tomorrow (Thursday) at 9.30 in Committee Room 1, Leinster House to discuss the topics of Urban Regeneration and Restoration Of Town Councils.

The detailed scrutiny of the Urban Regeneration and Housing (Amendment) Bill 2018 will include contributions from the following people, Mick Wallace, TD; Emeritus Prof. P.J. Drudy of TCD; Christopher Oonan and Mel Reynolds, Architect.

Similarly, detailed scrutiny of the  Local Government (Restoration Of Town Councils) Bill 2018 is also up for discussion with Brendan Howlin TD;  Dr. Aodh Quinlivan, UCC; Pio Smith, Labour Party Councillor; and former Senator Marie Maloney all due before the committee.

The detailed scrutiny of the Urban Regeneration and Housing (Amendment) Bill 2018 is sponsored by Deputy Mick Wallace, while the detailed scrutiny of the Local Government (Restoration Of Town Councils) is sponsored by Deputy Brendan Howlin.

In advance of tomorrows meeting, the Chair of the Joint Committee, Deputy Maria Bailey, said: “The Urban Regeneration and Housing Bill, and the Restoration Of Town Councils Bill are very topical. We look forward to hearing the contributions tomorrow.”
