PAC to examine Department of Justice 2017 accounts

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will meet tomorrow with Officials from the Department of Justice and Equality. The meeting will see the Committee consider Vote 24 of the 2017 Appropriation Accounts.

Aidan O’Driscoll, Secretary General and Officials from the Department of Justice and Equality will be in attendance.

Chairman of the PAC, Seán Fleming TD, said today, “The Department’s vote covers a wide remit and PAC members will have questions around the transformation programme which is currently being undertaken by the Department and how that process is progressing. Policing reform is another area likely to be discussed, as well as the pressures on accommodation system for asylum seekers.

“The Committee will also discuss issues related to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission and Garda Inspectorate, the Insolvency Service of Ireland and Ordinance Survey Ireland.”
