PAC to discuss National Paediatric Hospital Development Board 2017 Financial Statements & cost escalation

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will meet tomorrow with Officials from the Department of Health; the HSE and the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB).

The meeting is a resumption of the Committee’s examination of the NPHDB’s 2017 financial statements at its meeting on 31 January 2019 in the context of the subsequent publication of the PWC report on the escalation in the cost of the new hospital.

• Mr. Jim Farragher, Finance Manager
• Mr. Paul Quinn

Department of Health
• Mr. Jim Breslin, Secretary General
• Ms. Tracy Conroy, Assistant Secretary

Health Service Executive
• Mr. Dean Sullivan, Deputy Director General – Strategy
• Mr. Jim Curran, Head of Estates

Chairman of the PAC, Seán Fleming TD, said today, “The PAC will tomorrow return to its examination of the NPHDB’s 2017 financial statements. The Committee will be keen to discuss the recently published PWC report, which looked at the escalating costs of the hospital. Members are also likely to engage with the witnesses on the reporting obligations of members of non-commercial State bodies, of which the NPHDB is one.”

The meeting will start at 9am in Committee Room 3
