Joint Committee on Education and Skills engages with stakeholders on Quality Assurance (Education and Training) (Amendment) Bill 2018

The Joint Committee on Education and Skills will meet with stakeholders on the policy implications of the Quality Assurance (Education and Training) (Amendment) Bill 2018, tomorrow, 18 June.

The Bill sets minimum standards for the private further and higher education sectors and introduces an international education quality assurance mark.

The discussion on the content of the Bill 2018 will take place in Committee Room 2, Leinster House at 3.30pm.

A wide range of stakeholders are expected to attend including:

  • Quality and Qualifications Ireland
  • Technological Higher Education Association (THEA)
  • AONTAS
  • Progress College Network
  • National University of Ireland (NUI)
  • Irish Universities Association (IUA)
  • Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM)
  • Study and Protect
  • Unite the Union
  • Department of Education and Skills

Speaking in advance on the meeting, Committee chair, Fiona O’Loughlin said: “We welcome the opportunity to have this engagement with stakeholders and hope it will assist the Committee in its formal consideration of the Bills scheduled for 2 July, 2019”.
