Joint Committee on European Union Affairs to discuss Engagement on alliance-building

25 Jun 2019, 10:35

The Joint Committee on European Union Affairs will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) in Committee Room 1 at 2pm to discuss alliance-building in the European Union.

The committee will hear from representatives from the following organisations; Ibec; Irish Universities Association and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

Committee Chairperson Michael Healy-Rae said: “This is the sixth in a series of meetings on this very important topic of alliance-building, and we look forward to the contribution of such a broad range of people with a diverse range of views on the topic.

Ireland has worked actively and successfully with fellow Member States in order to understand positions and build coalitions on a range of priority issues. In light of Brexit and its potential impact on the EU, and Ireland, relationships with fellow members are more important than ever.”
