Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6.15pm, the Joint Committee on Justice and Equality will meet to discuss Garda reform and related issues with Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.
Ahead of the meeting Committee Chairman Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD said: “The Commissioner has appeared before the committee on two previous occasions since his appointment last September. We look forward to this further engagement when we will again address reform of the organisation and any other matters which committee members choose to raise.
“The Committee published an in-depth report in March on Community Policing and Rural Crime. We are interested in the Commissioner’s reaction to the Report and to discussing the merit of the recommendations contained therein.”
