Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine to discuss Coillte’s annual report and hear update on farm partnerships

2 Dec 2019, 16:57

The Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3.30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House to discuss Coillte’s annual report for 2018.

Deputies and Senators will be briefed by representatives of Coillte on the company’s overall performance last year, statements of strategy and corporate plans and an update on farm partnerships.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chairman Pat Deering TD said: “Coillte is the State’s forestry company with an important function in the management of our woodland assets. Last year the company generated revenues of €330 million and paid a dividend to the State of close to €15 million. This is the first opportunity for the Committee to engage with Coillte’s new CEO, Imelda Hurley. Members look forward to hearing the company’s plans for the future and we are particularly interested in hearing an update on Coillte’s farm partnerships.”

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
