The Health Committee will discuss workforce planning in the health sector with Fórsa trade union representatives tomorrow, Wednesday, in Leinster House, Committee Room 3 at 9am.
Fórsa represents more than 30,000 health workers including health and social care professionals, clerical administrate, management staff and technical staff.
Speaking before the meeting Committee Chair Michael Harty TD said: “We welcome the opportunity to hear from Fórsa which represents many of the staff on the front line of health service delivery.
“While we want to listen to the concerns of the front -line staff we also want to ensure that the recruitment and changes to work practices are now being planned so that the Health Sector can deliver more quality care in a community as against a hospital setting.
We will also be examining the extent to which the pause in recruitment is impacting on waiting lists.”
