20 Dec 2019, 13.08

The Joint Committee on Children and Youth Affairs is inviting written submissions from interested groups or individuals on the General Scheme of a Certain Institutional Burials (Authorised Interventions) Bill.

The proposed legislation provides for the phased forensic analysis and possible re-interment of remains at former institutional sites like the former mother and baby home in Tuam, Co. Galway.

The Committee will consider any suitable written submissions received and may decide to invite a number of contributors to public hearings, should it be considered necessary.

Information on how to make a submission can be found here.

The closing date for receipt of submissions is Friday, 10 January 2020.
