Committee on Transport and Communications Networks to meet to discuss Aviation & Brexit

The Committee on Transport and Communications Networks will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, at 11.30am in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House to examine matters related to Aviation.

It is the first of two sittings scheduled for this week, with Senior Officials from the Department of Transport also due before the committee on Thursday for a briefing at 2pm in Committee Room 2.

Tomorrow’s two-hour meeting will see the following witnesses appear before the Committee for its first public sitting of this Dáil term.

  • Aer Lingus
  • Ryanair
  • DAA
  • Shannon Group PLC
  • Eamon Ryan, TD, Minister for Climate Action, Communication Networks and Transport
  • Hildegarde Naughton, TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport and Logistics

Among the key priorities for the committee is scrutiny of Ireland’s connectivity.

Shannon Group PLC runs; Shannon Airport, Shannon Commercial Properties and Shannon Heritage while the DAA, previously Dublin Airport Authority, is a commercial semi-state airport company which operates Dublin and Cork airports.

Tomorrow’s meeting in Committee Room 4 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV, with Thursday’s meeting also broadcast, on Oireachtas TV from Committee Room 2.
