Committee of Public Accounts to discuss C&AG’s 2019 accounts with Revenue Commissioners

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet to consider the Comptroller and Auditor General’s 2019 Appropriation Accounts with the Revenue Commissioners tomorrow, Thursday, 19 November.

Chaired by Deputy Brian Stanley, the meeting at 11.30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will hear from the C&AG, Seamus McCarthy, followed by Niall Cody, Chairman of the Board of the Revenue Commissioners, and officials.

The accounts to be examined are:

  • Appropriation Account 2019 Vote 9 (Office of the Revenue Commissioners);
  • Central Fund Related Accounts Revenue Account 2019.

Deputy Stanley said: “The Revenue Commissioners are tasked with fairly and efficiently collecting taxes and duties due to the State and implementing customs controls. The Committee looks forward to engaging with Mr Cody and his officials on the Revenue accounts and related matters. Members are also interested in examining where further efficiencies can be achieved.”

The PAC is a standing committee of Dáil Éireann which focuses on ensuring public services are run efficiently and achieve value for money.
