The Joint Committee on Health will discuss the roll-out of the coronavirus vaccine with the Chair of the High-Level Task Force on Covid-19 Vaccination, Professor Brian MacCraith, the Chief Clinical Officer of the HSE, Dr Colm Henry, and the Head of the National Immunisation Advisory Committee, Professor Karina Butler, at a meeting in Leinster House, tomorrow, Wednesday, 16th December at 11.30am.
All witnesses will join the meeting, remotely, via video link in Committee Room 2.
Speaking before the meeting Committee Chairman Seán Crowe TD said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to engage with witnesses on the roll-out of the vaccine programme”
“With vaccination expected to take place within weeks, Committee Members will want to examine the logistics involved in this programme from the procurement to the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“In addition to the roll-out and the need for the State to be able to move on from Covid, we need also to examine issues around vaccine safety and on developing a programme to address legitimate concerns held by many about the need to vaccinate”
