The Joint Committee on Health met in private session this afternoon to express concerns over the allegations that the Department of Health gathered sensitive and confidential information on children and their families who were involved in legal actions against the State that was highlighted in the RTE Investigates report yesterday.
The Committee is writing to the Minister for Health this evening calling for the Senior Counsel’s report to be made available to the whistleblower today, and for a copy to be sent to the Committee by Tuesday 30th March. The Committee has agreed to hold a public meeting with the Secretary General of the Department of Health on this matter within the next few weeks.
