Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration to meet Minister Rabbitte to discuss update on ‘Unmet Needs’ report

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 May, with Minister Anne Rabbitte to hear an update on the measures taken in light of the Ombudsman for Children’s report entitled ‘Unmet Needs’.

The meeting at 3.30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House will be joined remotely by the Minister of State at the Department of Health with responsibility for Disability and officials from the Department.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kathleen Funchion said: “The Committee looks forward to hearing an update from Minister Rabbitte on the Department’s efforts to deal with the issues raised in the Unmet Needs report, in particular the concerns raised around children missing out on an Assessment of Needs before the age of five due to the long waiting lists under the Early Intervention Scheme.”

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
