Committee of Public Accounts to examine 2019 Financial Statements of An Bord Pleanala

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 13 May, to examine the 2019 Financial Statements of An Bord Pleanala.

The meeting at 9.30am will be broadcast from Committee Room 4 of Leinster House and will hear from the Comptroller and Auditor General, Seamus McCarthy, followed by representatives from An Bord Pleanala led by Chairperson Dave Walsh.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Stanley said: “An Bord Pleanala is responsible for the independent determination of planning appeals and adjudicating on Strategic Infrastructure and Housing Developments. The Board is now accountable to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage and in 2019 received funding of €18.5million from the Exchequer.

“The 2019 Financial Statements included expenditure of €3.4m on legal costs and settlements and the Committee looks forward to discussing this and other matters with the representatives of An Bord Pleanala.”
