Budgetary Oversight Committee to discuss budget priorities exiting Covid

The Committee on Budgetary Oversight will discuss budgetary priorities exiting Covid at a meeting, tomorrow, Thursday, 3 June in Leinster House, Committee Room 1 at 9.30am.

Social Justice Ireland’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Seán Healy, Research and Policy Analyst, Michelle Murphy, Economic and Social Analyst Colette Bennett and Research and Policy Analyst Susanne Rogers; and Associate Professor of Economics at University of Limerick Dr Stephen Kinsella will appear before the Committee virtually for the discussion

Speaking before the meeting, Cathaoirleach of the Committee Neasa Hourigan TD said: “The Committee on Budgetary Oversight will be undertaking its pre-budget 2022 scrutiny through a series of meeting over the next few weeks. “The Committee welcomes this engagement with Social Justice Ireland and Dr Stephen Kinsella to discuss the budget priorities exiting Covid. The meeting will assist the Committee in examining how Budget 2022 can best serve to provide continuing supports to counteract the health crises, and to provide stimulus to assist in an economic recovery that includes all of society”.
