Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment to discuss reopening of economy with employers and unions

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 16 June, with representatives of small and medium businesses and the unions to discuss the reactivation of enterprise, trade and employment following the pandemic restrictions.

The meeting at 9.30am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House will hear from representatives from Irish Small and Medium Enterprises (ISME) and representatives from Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU).

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “The Committee previously heard from the Minister on the Government’s plans for reactivating the economy. We now look forward to hearing the views of ISME and ICTU on the measures and supports they are believe are needed to help businesses and workers with reopening and recovery from the effects of the shutdowns due to the public health restrictions to counter the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
