16 Jun 2021, 15:50

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 17 June, with representatives of the University of Limerick to discuss its 2019 Consolidated Financial Statements.

The meeting at 9.30am will be broadcast from Committee Room 3 of Leinster House and will hear from the Comptroller and Auditor General, Seamus McCarthy, followed by Professor Kerstin Mey, President of UL, who will be accompanied by Andrew Flaherty, Chief Corporate Officer, and Rosemary Fogarty, Financial Controller.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Stanley said: “The University of Limerick is one of Ireland’s five-star rated universities. It has some 2,100 employees and caters for 17,000 students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies across a range of disciplines. UL’s annual accounts are certified by the C&AG and thus fall under the remit of the PAC. The Committee welcomes Professor Mey and her colleagues and looks forward to discussing their 2019 financial statements and related matters with them.”
