Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands to meet Pobal chairperson designate Rosarii Mannion

The Joint Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands will meet Pobal’s chairperson designate Rosarii Mannion at a meeting in Leinster House tomorrow, Wednesday, 22 September.

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 3 at 9am.

Cathaoirleach of the Committee Deputy Denis Naughten TD said: “The Committee welcomes this engagement with Roasarii Mannion as she prepares to embark on her new role with Pobal.

“Pobal administer and manage Government and EU funding to address disadvantage and support social inclusion. It provides management and support services to about 31 programmes in a broad range of areas including social inclusion, early childhood care and education, community development, peace and reconciliation, equality, labour market supports and education and training.

“Pobal’s reach is widespread. It allocated about €717 million in 2020. It works on an on an all-island basis and employs over 500 staff. The Committee looks forward to this engagement to learn about Rosarii Mannion’s career background and her objectives for Pobal over the coming years.”
