Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment to discuss resourcing and capacity of Workplace Relations Commissions

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 October, to discuss resourcing and capacity of the Workplace Relations Commission, and how it addresses issues relating to migrant workers.

The meeting at 9.30am in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House will hear from representatives of the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) and the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF).

Ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Maurice Quinlivan said: “The WRC plays a very important role in ensuring fair and proper treatment of people in workplaces and in the non-discriminatory delivery of services. The Committee looks forward to discussing the resourcing and capacity issues faced by the WRC, and in particular issues raised by the ITF around migrant workers, including in the fishing sector.”

The Joint Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
