Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to discuss to discuss cybersecurity and possible hybrid threats following the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th March, to discuss cybersecurity and possible hybrid threats following the Russian invasion of Ukraine at 13:15pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House. 

The meeting will be held in 2 sessions and the Committee will hear from representatives from:

Session 1

·       Dr. Richard Browne, Director of National Cyber Security Centre.

·       Peter Hogan, Cyber Policy Division, and officials from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.

Session 2

·       Dr Michael Scott, Cybersecurity expert.

·       Padraic O’Reilly, Chief Product Officer, CyberSaint.

·       Pat Larkin, CEO Ward Solutions and representatives from Ward Solutions.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Kieran O’Donnell said: “The Committee is looking forward to the discussion on cybersecurity and to examining the possible threats to our communications infrastructure following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
